Caring for your Christmas Tree

It's important to care for your Christmas Tree to make sure it lasts well into Christmas (and beyond!)

Here are our tips for making the most of your real Christmas Tree:

Buy a local Christmas Tree

Buying local means that you will have a fresh, traceable and often a sustainable tree. In our case, selecting your tree directly from our farm means that you are getting the freshest tree possible.

You are also reducing transport miles by buying local, and so reducing your carbon footprint too.

Inspect your Christmas Tree

It's important to check the quality of your Christmas Tree. As we grow our trees here on Willock Farm in Cambridgeshire, you are welcome to come and choose your tree. If you purchase online and opt for delivery, we inspect and select your tree on your behalf.

When checking your tree make sure that the needles are green and feel soft and pliable, not brown and brittle.

Keep your tree hydrated

Make sure to keep your tree watered when you take it home. You can purchase tree watering stands to make this easier. Watering your tree means it will last into Christmas and beyond!

Placing your tree

Make sure to keep your tree away from heat sources, such as radiators, heaters or fires. Heat will dry out your tree faster and can even be a fire risk, so make sure to keep it away from heat.
